What is the Leadership Support Team?

The Leadership Support Team (LST) assists co-chairs and site council members in building leadership capacity. LST services are offered free to district site councils and are provided through the Office of Leadership Development and Site Based Improvement.



Ways in which LST supports site councils include the following:
  • Leadership development/coaching for co-chairs including:
  • developing leadership skills,
  • facilitating group process,
  • running effective meetings,
  • creating welcoming environments


Customized workshops and retreats to teach your council the basics including:
  • collaborative / shared decision making
  • goal setting
  • site council work planning
  • roles and responsibilities
  • information gathering
  • strategies for working together effectively
  • Recruiting and retaining members
  • School Continuous Improvement Plan (SCIP) process development
  • Leadership transition (preparing for new council leadership)
  • Principal selection process coaching



Our newest Resource . . .

The Site Council Tool Kit, an organized and systematic resource to help your council answer its "burning" questions including:

1) Why are we where? 2) What are we going to do? 3) How well are we doing

Training for co-chairs to use the Tool Kit is available through the LST.
